Intro - Bad Driving Habits - Terrace BC


***The must watch part is at 5:50*** My grandfather, who is now 100, drove truck most of his life in Canada both on highway and off in some of the worst weather conditions and roads you could imagine. My father was also a truck driver that must have traveled at least 6 million kilometers in his career before retiring. I have also worked driving truck for a few years hauling high explosives to road construction companies and mines, but I have mainly done other jobs. None of us has ever had an auto crash or caused one. This is due to the fact that we don't speed, we slow down for road conditions and we pay attention at all times. Now I'm not trying to claim that we are better drivers than anyone else. Accidents can happen to anyone at anytime, even us. But 90% of auto crashes are not accidents. They are due to driver inattention, excessive speeding and not slowing down for road conditions. Most people who engage in these activities while driving will tell you they are good drivers and when they get into a crash 90% will tell you it wasn't their fault. Car crashes are still the #1 killer of youth aged 13 to 21 years in my home province of British Columbia. Over 3400 men, women and children are killed every single day on the worlds roads while walking, cycling, or driving.
